The Zwaka Lab is looking for curious and motivated individuals to join us in research that aims to characterize the processes involved in establishing and maintaining pluripotency as well as pathways that provide plasticity to developing tissues. Several projects are available, including identification of novel molecular mechanisms involved in stem cell regulation and investigating the role of competitive cell-cell interactions during early embryonic differentiation and development. Our work combines classical genetics, functional transcriptomics, genomics and biochemical analysis of cell biological processes.
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is renowned for its dedication to high-class biomedical research, with state-of-the-art facilities and offers an international and exciting scientific environment in New York City. Candidates should ideally have experience in one or more of the following disciplines: genetics, developmental cell biology, genome organization, transcriptomics, functional genomics, protein biochemistry. Previous experience with mouse and/or human embryonic stem or iPS cells would provide an advantage.
